Why a drinking water app like Watrify?

Finding clean drinking water quickly on the go is often harder than expected. Many public drinking fountains exist but remain unused because they aren't marked on standard maps. This is exactly where Watrify comes in: my drinking water app for Android and iOS instantly shows you the nearest water source – whether in Berlin, Paris, or on a hiking trail in the Alps.

By combining official open data sources and an active community, Watrify already covers over 250,000 water spots across Europe. Users can upload photos, leave reviews, and help improve data quality. This creates a reliable map for drinking water.

Whether you want to avoid plastic bottles, save money, or simply stay healthy – with the free drinking water app Watrify, you always have access to fresh water.

Frequently asked questions about the Watrify drinking water app (iOS & Android)

Why is the iOS app only available for iOS 26 and newer?

The iOS app just went live in late 2025. Since I develop the project entirely alone in my free time, I had to build it directly on the latest Apple standards. This is the only way to keep the app future-proof and maintainable for me.
The workaround for now: Just open watrify.de in your browser. The mobile web version works perfectly on any older iPhone. I am already working on an app update for older iOS versions - but it might take a little while.

In which languages are the apps available?

Both apps are currently available in German and English.
